The Philippines may soon deliver agricultural products to Belarus. This was one of the results of the “aggressive marketing campaign” in Eastern Europe launched by the Philippines Department of Agriculture.
In a Facebook post, Minister of Agriculture Emmanuel Pignol said they were asked to provide a list of products that the Philippines could supply so that the Belarusian government could allow these products to enter the Bel-Agro festival in June.
“Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Ivan Smilkhin said that the Philippines will have to carry out an advertising campaign for their products,” Pinyol added. Among the agricultural products chosen for the demonstration are young green coconuts, coconut water, mangoes, bananas, pineapples, canned tuna, premium coffee and cocoa.Last Friday, March 22, a delegation representing the Government of the Philippines began negotiations with the Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus and representatives of the Euroopt supermarket chain. At the talks, it was decided that the Philippines would begin the first deliveries of agricultural products to Euroopt, namely mangoes, canned pineapples, canned tuna and coconut products.
In exchange, the Philippines is looking for new sources of fertilizer supply. Meanwhile, the Minsk Tractor Plant has expressed its intention to create an assembly plant in the Philippines.
