In the Odessa region, a cadastral map of all functioning vineyards will soon be developed, containing data on grape varieties and promising lands on which planting of new plantings is possible. Such a card is needed to prepare winemaking enterprises for signing the Association Agreement with the European Union and facilitate the release of a unique Ukrainian product.
The information about this was provided by the head of the agrarian policy department of the Odessa regional state administration Ivan Petriv.
Ivana Petriv said that winemaking and viticulture are the leading agricultural sectors in the Odessa region. On the lands of the region there are 28.5 thousand hectares of vineyards, which makes up more than 40% of all vine plantations in the country.
The average grape production per year here reaches 230-240 thousand tons and accounts for 60% of the country's total grape production. 49 wine-making enterprises operate here, which allows attracting tourists by creating gastronomic and wine routes.
Currently, routes are being developed for acquaintance with the companies of the region that are engaged in the manufacture of wine and authentic products.
According to Petriv, tourist routes will cover the territory of small enterprises and family chateaux, since subsidiary farms make up 26% of all vineyards in the region and occupy 7.4 thousand hectares.
It is planned that gastronomic tours will include visits to villages with a tasting of local products such as feta cheese, shurpa, Danube herring.
