Amaranth products are useful not only for people. Green mass goes to livestock feed, but before harvesting it was unprofitable, as it took a lot of resources. Recently, a Ukrainian craftsman created a unique energy-efficient amaranth harvesting technology.
Amaranth feed was widely used in pig farming in the 90s, and its properties were highly valued by old agronomists and livestock specialists, says Alexander Duda, chairman of the Association of Amaranth and Amaranth Producers.
In 2017, the enterprise of Alexander Duda accumulated surplus amaranth cake and began to search for a market. On this issue they turned to pedigree farms and feed mills. They even wrote to the Mironovsky Hleboproduct company, where they met with approval and willingness to cooperate. But the volume of oilcake was too small. Even now, Ukrainian enterprises cannot offer cattle breeders a sufficient amount of oilcake.Amaranth green mass in nutritional value is in no way inferior to oilcake. But to dry it on an AVM installation, a large amount of resources was required. The procedure was so energy intensive that no one wanted to deal with it.
Now, Ukraine has its own energy-efficient technology for harvesting amaranth for livestock feed. While the novelty is still being improved. They will introduce it to the public a little later. This event is expected to happen at the end of this year.
