Thanks to new investments in India, consumers will be able to enjoy fresh and safe products that are grown locally in accordance with international food safety standards.
The construction of the first stage, which includes 8.8 hectares, is currently underway. (22 acres) hinged roof greenhouses and modern packaging workshop.
According to the company, it will help ensure a constant supply of fresh products to meet demand from a growing population.
Initially, the company will produce:
- nutraceutical crops such as turmeric, ginger and other medicinal herbs;
- vegetable crops such as tomato, paprika, cucumber and salad. Subsequent expansion will allow the production of berry crops such as strawberries and blueberries.
This project is led by Sachin Darbarvar, CEO of Simply Fresh. A few years ago, Sachin built 1.2 hectares. (4 acres) of greenhouses where turmeric, ginger, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and some berries were grown.
Now Sachin was able to get funds from Proterra Investment Partners, Mylktree & Harvest Capital. The team was united to create a large-scale project (~ 32 ha.), Which would allow to produce significant volumes of crops under one brand.
Each package will have a QR code that customers can scan to find out the exact origin and direction of the product.
In addition to production greenhouses, a world-class research laboratory, a tissue culture laboratory and an automated nursery are being built.
The first phase of construction is expected to be completed by the beginning of next year, and the second phase is expected to be completed in the next 18 months, making it the largest Plant Plant in India.
