Employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Samara Region actively supported the initiative to hold a unique workshop in the region for local cattle breeders, which is dedicated to raising young cattle - from heifers to heifers using the innovative technology “from zero to fourteen months”.
The practice-oriented event was held in the classrooms of the Veterinary Department of the Samara Agricultural University. And the main speakers at the seminar were leading experts of agricultural companies of the Samara region working with breeding stock.
First of all, the organizers of the educational event discussed with the audience such an important issue as the importance of the newborn period in the process of breeding young animals of the repair category.
Also on the agenda was the issue of the main points in the advanced feeding of young individuals and the maintenance of heifers from the first minutes of birth to the onset of fourteen months.
The issue of practical work with various types of monocorms, as well as with starter feeds for young cattle, did not go unnoticed. The seminar participants discussed the process of organizing feeding of individuals from the seventy-fifth day of life until the time of mating. They also touched on the organoleptic moments of calf feed, which can be called ideal.
At the end of the seminar, the speakers demonstrated to the audience a visual method of calculating the calf ration and the method of dividing the young by physiological categories with the presentation of the estimated cost of the daily “menu” for each group.
