Today, Russian scientists are working on a unique project - the task of developing various types of space greenhouses fell on the shoulders of the best minds of the Russian Federation.
In particular, domestic developers are preparing to present two types of "star" greenhouses. One of them is designed to succeed the very greenhouse, which was never able to reach the International Space Station in 2016 due to an accident on board.
Recall that the cost of building the greenhouse, which was called "Lada-2", exceeded 500 thousand dollars. The crash, alas, did not give scientists the opportunity to experiment with the cultivation of salad crops, as well as wheat and sweet pepper in orbital conditions.Experts, having studied the circumstances of the collapse of the greenhouse, came to the conclusion that it is advisable not to "reanimate" the injured hull, but to build a new one that meets modern requirements and technologies.
It is reported that the alleged name of one of the new greenhouses is “Vitacycl-T”. They intend to equip it in such a way that ideal conditions are created for growing carrots and greens of salad crops.Note that at the moment, “Vitacycl-T” has not yet been tested in flight, but technologies for growing plants under the conditions of a greenhouse in space are already being developed. Breeders create cultural samples that will go to the International Space Station.
