Last week was marked by severe weather for some regions of Russia. Snowfalls raged alternately with hurricanes, however, fortunately, they did not affect the state and development of winter crops.
In particular, weather conditions did not affect the winter crops of the Krasnodar Territory, and experts assess the condition of local wintering grains as good. At the same time, experts are in no hurry to make forecasts about the future harvest.
A similar situation is developing in the Stavropol Territory, which also experienced several days of intense weather. The temperature in the region stabilized at low levels, and this contributed to the cessation of winter vegetation for an indefinite period. Nevertheless, the second stage of hardening, provided for by the normal development process, continues in the winter of Stavropol.
“I am glad that the cold appeared on time,” experts say. “After all, in the early stages, winter crops are much more resistant to low temperatures than in the future.”
There are no reasons for concern among the agrarians of the Stavropol Territory either because at the tillering nodes of winter crops, which are hidden shallow underground, the temperature remains with a plus sign.
The experts did not record the death of winter crops. It should be noted that this year about two million hectares were planted with winter crops in the Stavropol Territory. Shoots appeared in more than 80% of the planted areas.
According to experts, the winter of 2018-2019. predicted for winter crops as favorable. Agrarians rely on intense and soft snow that will “cover” winter crops and contribute to their comfortable and proper development.
