The other day, tons of seeds of several varieties of cereals from the Russian Federation went to Turkey.
We are talking about nine types of wheat and two different varieties of barley, which were sent by domestic breeders to Turkish fields as experimental seed material.
It is known that the Russian Federation agreed with the Turkish side on the supply of fifty tons of winter seed material at once.
It is reported that the sender of the grains was a non-profit organization built on partnerships between seed growers and representatives of breeding developments.
Based on the information shared by representatives of the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, in the near future one of the varieties of cereals that was sent to Turkey, among others, will be included in the State List of Selection Achievements.
It is known that we are talking about winter wheat under the name "Carolina-5", which was developed by experienced breeders of the federal scientific agricultural center of the North Caucasus.
According to Andrei Oleinikov, who heads the regional Ministry of Agriculture, at least eight thousand tons of seeds created in the Stavropol Territory are currently exported to the foreign market. For clarity, it should be noted that five years ago the volume of seed exports did not exceed three thousand tons.
