Village pubs across England will be expanded to include post offices, grocery stores and libraries, with public funding of £ 188,000.
Minister Jake Berry announced that 76 new projects will receive money through Pub The Hub, an innovative organization that supports rural pubs in diversification and helps pubs connect communities by expanding their services beyond food and drink.
Parliamentary Minister Jake Berry, a member of parliament, said that “Pubs are not only places where you can drink, but also places where you can get the necessary public services, as well as meeting places to help cope with rural isolation.”John Longden, executive director of Pub the Hub, added: "This funding will be welcomed by many projects and will be a huge incentive for thousands of people living in rural communities and visiting them."
The services and activities provided by professional pub licensees (lessors) through their enterprises can provide a wide range of benefits; basic food items, library books, training courses, local vendor stores, and new jobs all increase wealth through vital social connections. Over 2,000 pubs across England are listed as assets of public value, giving them extra protection.
