On April 17 of this year, the specialists of the Infoindustria news agency monitored the state of sugar beet crops.

The data obtained indicate that the cooling did not adversely affect the seedlings of the culture. Interviewed Ukrainian farmers characterize the state of sugar beet inputs as good.

During the monitoring, many respondents said that 10–70% of the areas allotted for the culture have already been germinated. This is due to the early dates of the sugar beet sowing campaign. Some farmers reported that in the fields from farms, seedlings of the crop are at the stage of a pair of real leaves.

According to the interviewed farmers, frosts in the dark and lowering the temperature to -3 ° C with precipitation in the form of snow in Western Ukraine, observed at the beginning of this week, did not damage the beet crops.

The data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine indicate that on April 17 of this year in Ukraine 192.6 thousand hectares were planted with sugar beets, which is 78.4% of the forecast. Earlier it was reported that due to a cold snap earlier this week in the Vinnitsa region, the sowing campaign of sunflower was suspended.
