According to data released by Rosstat analysts, to date, sunflower stocks in the assets of agricultural organizations in the Russian Federation exceed 820 thousand tons. And this is almost 43% more than the volume of similar reserves in 2018.

The reason for the large amount of sunflower in the storages of Russian farmers, experts call a record level of yield in previous seasons.

Based on the information shared by employees of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in the current season, domestic farmers managed to collect more than twelve million tons of sunflower. For comparison, we add that a year earlier the harvest in mid-May was 22% less than the actual one.

Analysts emphasize that a large supply of sunflower in storage was also facilitated by a drop in sales of this crop this year - 20% less than in the previous season.

Over the past eight months, Russian farmers have managed to ship more than five and a half million tons of sunflower. It is noteworthy that this indicator significantly exceeds the volume of shipments last season, when it was possible to realize 12% less sunflower.
