For the first time in the history of their trade relations with other countries, agricultural producers of the Republic of Azerbaijan sent corn to the Georgian market. The export volume in this case amounted to nine hundred kilograms.
Representatives of the public relations department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan shared this information with a wide audience.
The ministry also hastened to emphasize that at the moment there are all conditions conducive to expanding export horizons for Azerbaijani corn.
It will not be superfluous to note that this year the republic’s agrarians allocated over thirty-two thousand nine hundred hectares of land for the cultivation of maize. Compared with last year, there was an increase in the area of the territory by almost three percent.
It is noteworthy that by August of this year, Azerbaijani grain workers by common efforts managed to harvest fourteen thousand four hundred tons of corn. The average yield at the same time amounted to forty-eight centners per hectare.
