Greenhouses created on the basis of European patterns of the latest fifth generation are being tested today in the city of Volzhsky (Volgograd Region). The total area of innovative greenhouses is 5.2 hectares. They plan to grow mainly tomatoes.
According to the employees involved in the work of new greenhouses, the yield in these facilities should be higher than in greenhouses of previous generations, by as much as 15%.
They also note that the greenhouse complex is equipped with a climate control system and special lighting. As for pollination, here bumblebees will be included in the work.

The head of the agricultural complex where the greenhouses are installed, Alexander Khodakov, notes: this year they managed to collect about 7 thousand tons of tomatoes grown in experimental greenhouses of a new generation.
“In the near future, we plan to expand the area of greenhouses by another 5 hectares,” says Khodakov.
We add that in addition to these fifth-generation greenhouses in the Volgograd region, by the end of 2018 there will be 11 more greenhouses. Now there are 25 of them.
